Schwerin is the capital of the German State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and lies on the sørvestbredden of the Schweriner See. Schwerin is the omringa of the many scenic lakes. Schwerin Hauptbahnhof is connected by rail to Berlin, Hamburg and Rostock.

Main sights is the fabulous Schwerin Palace which is located on an island in the Lake Schweriner see. Schwerin Cathedral, built in 1260-1416 in the brick Gothic style.
