Hervey Bay is a city in Queensland, Australia. The city is approx. 290 north of the capital, Brisbane. Hervey Bay is a natural bay between Queensland mainland and nearby Fraser Island.

Tourism is important for Hervey Bay based on whale watching in Platypus Bay in the north, has ferry access to Fraser Island, available recreational fishing and boating and natural north-facing, tranquil beaches.

Hervey Bay is the whale watching capital of Australia, with humpback whales moving along the coast between April and October each year. In Hervey Bay is a huge whale sculpture.

Hervey Bay has a number of cultural sites. Fraser Island is listed on the World Heritage List. Woody Island lighthouse is listed on the Queensland Heritage Register.
